Evaporative condenser with capability 525kw Ice Plant
Evaporative condenser is a key component commonly used in refrigeration systems, and it has important applications in ice factories.
In the ice making process, evaporative condensers are usually used in refrigerators or chillers to remove
heat from chilled water for refrigeration. Its working principle is achieved through internal refrigerant
circulation.
Firstly, the refrigeration system converts low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas into
high-temperature and high-pressure gas through a compressor. Then, the high-temperature and
high-pressure refrigerant gas flows through one side of the evaporative condenser and exchanges heat
with the chilled water. During this process, the heat in the refrigerant gas is transferred to the chilled
water, causing it to rapidly cool down.
As the temperature of the chilled water decreases, the refrigerant gas gradually condenses into a liquid
and returns to the compressor through a pipeline for further circulation. Similarly, frozen water can
continue to be recycled for continuous cooling.
The application of evaporative condensers in ice factories can effectively achieve the refrigeration process,
allowing for rapid cooling of chilled water and its use in the manufacture of ice cubes or other frozen
products. At the same time, its efficiency and reliability alsomake it one of the indispensable key equipment
in the ice making industry.

(2) What is the difference between a "counter flow" and a "cross flow" cooling tower?
The crossflow or counterflow designation characterizes the orientation of the airflow within the heat-transfer media (fill) in the tower with respect to the direction of water flow.
In counterflow towers air travels vertically upwards through the fill and makes intimate contact with water droplets falling down through the fill media. Hence the air and water travel in opposite directions.
In crossflow cooling towers the air passes through the fill media in a horizontal direction, thus crossing the downward water flow. Counterflow towers are inherently more efficient than crossflow towers.
